This is the extreme and the most difficult tour of those presented at our site. It is designated to persons having good physical condition and sufficient experience in mountaineering. The volcano Klyuchevskaya Sopka (4750m) is one of the most active volcanoes of Kamchatka and the world. During the ascent it is important to take into account the danger of rockslide and intense hydrogen sulfide gas release near the peak. The ascent starts at the Pass of Volcanologists at the southern slope.

Day 1: Paratunka / Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

Meeting at the airport of Elizovo. Transfer and accommodation at the recreation base of Paratunka or hotel of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Overnight staying – hotel. Meal: -/-/-

Day 2: Paratunka / Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Kozyrevsk Settlement

Transfer (8-10 hrs) by a cross-country automobile to Kozyrevsk. Accommodation at the guesthouse of the settlement. Overnight staying – huts. B/L/D

Day 3: Kozyrevsk – Perevalny Crater

Helicopter transfer to the Perevalny Crater that is situated between the volcanoes Ushkovsky and Klyuchevskaya Sopka at height of 2700 m. Tent camp setting (Camp 1). Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 4: Perevalny Crater – Volcanologists' pass

Trekking (4-5 hrs) to the Volcanologists’ Pass that is situated between the volcanoes Klyuchevskaya Sopka and Kamen at a height of 3300 m. Tent camp setting (Camp 2).
Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 5: Kluchevskaya Sopka

The ascent (8-10 hrs) of the southern slope of Klyuchevskaya Sopka. The descent (5-7 hrs) to Camp 2. Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 6: Volcanologists' pass

Reserved day in case of bad weather. Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 7: Volcanologists' pass – Perevalny Crater

Trekking (about 4 hrs) to the Perevalny Crater. Tent camp setting (Camp 3).
Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 8: Perevalny Crater – Camp 4

Trekking (about 6 hrs) to the height of 1900 m. Tent camp setting (Camp 4).
Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 9: Camp 4 – Studienaya River

Trekking (about 6 hrs) to the Studyenaya River. Tent camp setting (Camp 5) at a height of 1300 m. Overnight staying – tents. B/L/D

Day 10: Studienaya River – Kozyrevsk Settlement

Trekking (about 6 hrs) to the Sopka Kopyto, then transfer (about 3 hrs) by a cross-country automobile to Kozyrevsk and accommodation at the guesthouse of the settlement. Overnight staying – huts. B/L/D

Day 11: Kozyrevsk Settlement - Paratunka

Automobile transfer (about 8 hrs) and accommodation at the recreation base of Paratunka.
Overnight staying – hotel. B/L/-

Day 12: Transfer to the airport

4 700 EUR – for one person for group of 5 people

The tour includes the following expenses:

  • accommodation in hotels and huts
  • automobile movement along the entire route
  • helicopter transfer to 2700 m
  • meal: Breakfast (B)/Lunch (L)/Dinner (D)
  • group support services on the route: english-speaking guide adn guide assistant
  • visa support
  • transfer from the airport and to the airport

Additional costs relating to transportation, food and accommodation arising from the unforeseen consequence are not included in the cost.

The ascent of Klyuchevskoy Volcano can pose hazard to life because of its high volcanic activity, the presence of rockslides and rockfalls.

The participants must have good physical training and endurance. All common outfit and food products are equally distributed among all participants of the tour including officers of the firm. Weight of common load per person does not exceed 8 kilograms per person. All participants of the tour take part in cooking and tent setting. The basis of meal is composed of special sublimate products.

In addition, we inform you that route’s schedule may be modified because of the weather and/or unforeseen consequence. In this case the guide makes modification in the itinerary.
