AAGSKIYE (CHISTINSKIYE) MINERAL SPRINGS

They are located in the upstream of the Chistaya river left outlet. They were first discovered and described by the volcanologist E.A. Vakin in 1962.

coordinates: N53.43587º, E158.72910º

The springs are presented by two groups of multiple gryphons: the upper one with cold water and 5-11o C temperature and a low discharge, and the lower one with 39o C temperature and 10 l/sec discharge. Its main visual attraction is orange ferrous hydroxide sediment. It forms the chains of small pools close to the cone edges, and colours the river bed for tens meters downstream. There are also many aerated water springs with carbon dioxide prevalence. The water is sourishand delicious.

The Aagskiyenarzans are famous for a small group of mineral water springs located in 1,2-2 km to the east from the Aagskiye hot springs. They are located of the wide area of the brook channel that falls into the Shumnaya river. The water springs are surrounded by light yellow decomposed rocks. The cobble-stones that lay on the mineral water way are covered by the same colour sediment. The water is sour. It smells hydrogen sulfide.
