Khodutkinskie HOT SPRINGS
The springs are located in the south, at the Hodukta and the Priyomysh volcanoes foots, in 60 km from the Asacha bay.
The sources area is very picturesque, it changes by wide ash-covered deserted areas. The ash was thrown away during the Ksudach volcano eruption in 1907.
Numerous springs come out from the surface at the flat ground. The water flows out into small brooks, which join and form hot and transparent river. The width is 15-20 m, the depth is 1,5 m, the length is 1 km. The Hot river falls into the Right Hodutka river, with the discharge of 150 l/sec and the temperature of 34-40o C. In separate springs the temperature is 85-100o C. They are overgrown with the thermophile algae. The water contains silica, which forms geyserite grounds. The ash-covered geyserite plates indicate the former powerful activity of the springs.
Some springs emit bubbles - nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The springs area is a good recreation place, and the water of the springs has healing properties.
