EDELWEISS MEADOW

The natural monument of the Edelweiss Meadow is located in the head of the Studyonaya River at the Sopka Ploskaya (Flat Hill). It is the field of intact nature with rare phytocoenosis of Kamchatka Edelweiss. It is the example of the isolated species preservation.

Edelweiss grows mainly in the subalpine belt, at the mesoxerophytic meadows and rocky grounds along the alder stand woods, at the west and south-west slopes of the Sopka Ploskaya.
